I usually read YA too but someone recommended Peace Like a River by Leif Enger to me and it was amazing! I listened to the audio version.

Oh, Jellicoe road, no doubt! The fisr chapters are pretty confusing and you might want to give it up, but DON'T!! It's amazing. :)

I really liked Impossible by Nancy Werlin.
It wasn't until this very moment that I realized how many series I read. LOL I think for a stand alone book though I would recommend Seraphina because I am getting ready to read it based on recommendations. LOL
Nation by Terry Pratchett is a great read.

I would definately recommend you The Perks of Being A Wallflower, which is absolutely amazing book. :)
Very hard for me...I generally read series. One adult romance standalone that I can think of off the top of my head is GOODNIGHT, TWEETHEART by Teresa Medeiros.
Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley is a must read :)
CLOUD ATLAS by David Mitchell is an amazing read.
Standalones are so rare now!
I recommend The Graveyard Book or Coraline by Neil Gaiman!

The Search by Nora Roberts- a stand alone about a women who trains rescue dogs after having escaped a serial killer 10 years earlier. If you like her In Death series, this had a familar feel.
I highly recommend My Life next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. Great read and awesome characters.

Daniel Handler is one of my literary rockstars so I guess I'm recommending 'Why We Broke Up'. If you're up for some stellar, heartbreaking writing, that's the perfect book to read. Plus, it has really cool art illustrations throughout.
